Empowering Voices | Cool Girl Experience : E-COMTAW
It all started when my anxiety came back, right after graduation. Two months later, while I was supposed to be enjoying my vacation, I began to fear what was next. For five years of university, I always knew where I was heading what program, what exam, what goal. I lived each year fully, never worrying about the future because I was too busy living in the present, in what once was the university of my dreams. But when it all ended, I felt lost. I started looking for anything and everything to do, just to escape the thought that time was passing without me learning something new. At home, the pressure from my parents grew heavier they wanted to see me doing something, becoming someone. Then came September 15th, I still remember that day vividly. I saw an online offer that said they were looking for anyone who knew how to use a computer, to work in e-commerce. I had met a few guys before who talked about it, about the money they made, but I always had a bad opinion of it, thinking maybe it was dishonest or not for me. I was never crazy about technology anyway; I always loved the slow way of doing things, the more human rhythm of life. Still, something inside me pushed me to send them a message, to show my interest. To my surprise, they replied with a YES. I joined the team, and I was warmly welcomed. My first week was all about learning half of the group was still on vacation, so we learned together. They taught me the basics, answered all my questions, and gave me time to grow. Waking up early every day was hard, especially after five years of intense study and work away from home, but I tried my best to be on time, even when my energy was split between my personal plans and my new job. The office itself didn’t really feel like an office. The vibe was chill, full of music, laughter, shared meals, and dark humor. We worked, joked, helped each other, and created a space where I never felt like I was really working more like belonging. The team was a mix of all ages, backgrounds, and education levels; some younger than me, others older, all with different stories but one same goal to grow, to make money, to improve. Every conversation opened my mind to something new, every personality added a new color to my experience, and through them, I felt myself growing in ways I never expected. Some days I was full of excitement, ready to learn; other days, I was tired, overwhelmed, or frustrated when I couldn’t find the right product or do things perfectly, but my intentions were always pure; to learn and become better. Everyone was different, in style, taste, and mindset, yet together we formed something beautiful. And among all these people, there was someone with a certain presence, unpredictable and kind, the type of kindness that comes from a lot of pain they carry, but who, in their own way, reminded me of forgotten lessons about resilience, discipline, and ambition. Life has its way of teaching us through people rather than words, and this experience was no exception. In the end, I got the job I had dreamed of, but more importantly, I gained friendships, skills and memories. I’ll always be grateful for the laughs, the lessons, and the people who made it so special. This is dedicated to Imane, my childhood friend; Wissal, the best media buyer; Hind, the nicest ; Twitter, the funniest; Naoufal, the boss; Walid, the loudest; Aya, la Barbie ; and Naoufal, the coach.
